Foundations of Therapeutic Touch Workshop
Workshop Description
The Foundations of Therapeutic Touch workshop, which is part of the updated curriculum, is the first in a series of two workshops designed to teach students Therapeutic Touch as developed by Dolores Krieger, PhD, RN, and Dora Kunz.
After completion of Foundations, you will be able to apply your knowledge of Therapeutic Touch to provide complete sessions to your family, friends, and pets - as well as use Therapeutic Touch for self-care.
Over the course of this workshop students will learn about:
-The C.A.R.E.R model for providing Therapeutic Touch sessions, including how to assess and rebalance a human energy field to facilitate and support the healing process
-Underlying Therapeutic Touch concepts and theories
-Benefits and uses of Therapeutic Touch in a variety of settings
-Academic research on Therapeutic Touch
-Ethical considerations in the practice of Therapeutic Touch
Approach
To best meet the needs of various learning styles, this two-day workshop incorporates a variety of teaching methods including presentations, self-reflection, and dialogue - providing students the opportunity to discover and expand upon new learnings together.
Hands-on exercises and opportunities to practice giving Therapeutic Touch sessions feature prominently as well, allowing students to explore and apply what they have learned in a fun and supportive environment.
Class sizes are limited to allow for more personalized instruction
